Tenure: Full Time

Objective : The Digital Marketing and Communications Officer supports the design, implementation and operational management of the Organizations communications and marketing strategy. The Digital Marketing and Communications Officer plans and executes internal and external communication strategies and tactics that will improve stakeholders’ engagement, promote or strengthen the organization’s brand, broaden awareness of products and services, strengthen client acquisition and conversion programmees.

Qualified candidates should have impeccable digital agility, verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, a strong ability to multi-task and a friendly demeanor.

Key Responsibilities : The role involves (but not limited to) the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Determine strategic communications and marketing campaigns that will help to achieve organization goals.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns and strategies and monitor their success.
  • Develop and manage content for the Organization’s communication channels such as websites, social media channels, print media, television, FM radio etc, identifying potential news stories and working across teams to plan and develop content.
  • Day-to-day management of the Organization’s social media presence, including publishing content, networking with the top social media influencers to drive and respond to media engagement.
  • Drive the Organization’s customer experience campaigns and help resolve customer disputes.
  • Compile and produce regular promotional material for the Organization’s products and services.
  • Track and post project updates and key organization events cross the digital communications channels.
  • Draft media and stakeholder briefings as well as press releases for the Organization.
  • Support the development, promotion and organization of Organization’s online digital events, meetings or seminars.
  • Submit ideas for experimental digital marketing programs designed to enhance and grow the brand.
  • General digital engagement duties as may be required from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • Successful marketing and digital communication strategies and their success
  • Timely progress on all activities of communication management
  • Up-to-date organization communications channels including websites, social media accounts, e-bulletins, print journals and magazines etc.
  • Effective use of communication channels and materials
  • High customers’/clients’ conversion rates
  • Low attrition rate for customers/clients
Employment Standards

Education : Preferably, a University degree or equivalent in communication, public relations, customer service,marketing, Business Administration, Information communications Technology, Information Management Systems, or Business Computing.

Experience:  Proven professional experience in the field of media and communications including knowledge and competence in digital communications, social media management, web content management and analytics.

Required Skills: 

  • Must be digitally agile, innovative, self-starter, highly organized, and possesses excellent social media influencing skills
  • Polished communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skill, familiarity with the trending digital marketing channels

Special Skills (Added advantage):

  • Fluency in EAC official languages (English, Swahili, Luganda, etc.)
  • Experience in eCommerce and ICT Consulting environements or exposure to professional services environment.

Salary and Other Benefits:

Remuneration for this position shall be commensurate to the qualifications and experience and shall be negotiable.
